Hunter Biden investigation continues without charges

The investigation into Hunter Biden has been ongoing for over two years, yet no charges have been brought against him despite evidence found. The mishandling of the case and conflicts of interest within those overseeing it has caused controversy and raised questions about the integrity of the process.

One such conflict of interest is the fact that Nick McQuaid did not recuse himself from the Hunter Biden investigation despite being involved with the Biden family's legal team in the past. This conflict of interest raises concerns about impartiality and whether or not the investigation is truly fair.

Despite this, Hunter Biden's legal team recently reached out to Justice officials requesting an update on the case. While there haven’t been any public developments since prosecutors narrowed down possible charges last year, Hunter Biden’s team accuses a Delaware computer repair shop owner of trying to invade his privacy and wrongfully sharing his personal data for political gain, as well as accusing former Trump aide Garrett Ziegler of harassment.

The Biden laptop story was discredited by top government officials and resulted in a letter signed by dozens of ex-national security officials stating it had all the earmarks of a Russian information operation. Nonetheless, House Republicans have alleged that Secretary of State Antony Blinken intentionally misled the public in order to aid then-candidate Joe Biden win the 2020 election. They called on Blinken to resign or be impeached if he does not step down.

An IRS criminal supervisory agent requested whistleblower protection after claiming that politics and preferential treatment are impacting the five-year-long Hunter Biden investigation. With the media doing everything they can to protect Hunter Biden from embarrassing coverage or news that might hurt his father, this request highlights what some see as biased reporting.

Despite reports suggesting that Hunter Biden's meeting with DOJ officials could be a "make or break moment," little has come from the investigation thus far. Yet, the investigation continues without any apparent endgame in sight.
